This course provides an introduction to the theory of public key cryptography, the mathematical ideas underlying that theory, and an introduction to modern cryptography. Among the many facets of modern cryptography, this course chooses to concentrate primarily on public key cryptosystems and digital signature schemes. This allows for an in-depth development of the necessary mathematics required for both the construction of these schemes and an analysis of their security. The student who masters the material in this course will not only be well prepared for further study in cryptography, but will have acquired a real understanding of the underlying mathematical principles on which modern cryptography is based.

This course explores the political, economic, cultural, and moral foundations of science and technology governance, with a focus on the United States. Science and technology are the most powerful transforming forces in the world today. From multiple perspectives, we will investigate how these transformative powers are influenced by human decisions concerning design, direction, priorities, and investment in the advancement of scientific knowledge and technological innovation.

Welcome to “The Happiness Project Experience!”
I’m thrilled you’ve decided to join me in pursuing a happier life. When I wrote The Happiness Project over ten years ago, creating a community of people around the pursuit of happiness wasn’t as easy as it is today. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the book, I created this course so we can all do happiness projects together.
One defining principle of The Happiness Project is that we can change our lives without changing our lives—by taking small, realistic steps during the course of our ordinary routines.
Over the next year, you can expect to spend a few hours each month watching the videos, engaging in the live calls, and considering the provided reflection questions. The total time you’ll spend beyond that depends on the specific resolutions you choose.
